Right now, I am doing a fun "experiment" and trying to take all of my friend's and my friend's mother's advice and "Just Relax".

Sewing Project #2 Purse

Remember what I started the blog for? Yeah...my New Year's Goals. The main one being to learn to sew.

It has been so long since I sat down and did some sewing. My machine has been broken and life has been happening.

Well, I finally got down to some sewing.

In the bargain basket at Joann's I found some black silk that I loved and I wanted to make it into a purse. It was so smooth and I knew that I didn't want the inside to be that smooth.
I also found some pink polka dots that looked perfect for the job!

I am super proud of the way that it turned out. I'm a huge fan of the polka dots on the inside! There are a few things that I think I would do differently if I made another purse but I am going to use it all of the time! It was also good to get my mind off of things for awhile.

Finishing Projects

My mother and I have this problem where we start really cute projects and then only get half done before starting a new one.

Well, I am going to finish all my projects this year. I am going to add it to my list of resolutions. Before I can start anything new I am going to finish my projects:

-Cross stitch angel ornaments

-Velvet cat

-Old quilt projects

Also, my mother wanted to help me with my sewing resolutions by lending me the book she learned from.
She was 5 when she started sewing so she is amazing. I just hope to get close to those skills. Wish me luck!

New Year's Resolutions

I don't know about you, but when I can feel the New Year creeping up on me I start to think about how I am going to be better.

I come up with plans of attack. I tell myself, "After January first, I will get started on all of this."

Then it is back to school and working and living and I forget to fix myself. I forget my goals.

I know I am not alone in this.

This year, I decided not to wait another second. This year, I'm going to hop on the bandwagon of change before it starts going too fast and gets harder to hang on. That way when it is January I can say, "These goals are going to be easy! I've already got so much done!"

  • I am going to blog as often as I can so I can remember as much as I can about this year.

  • I am going to expand my portfolio of pictures and also learn to edit photos better. Any suggestions on books or programs that might help?

  • I am going to learn to sew. (This is something I have been putting off for awhile. Better late than never.)

I hope you can all stay tuned for whatever comes next. Life is such a great adventure!
